About Me
Hi, My Name Is Melissa Elise
I am a transgender woman who began transitioning in earnest at the age of 51. My first (and as of July 2023, only) medical intervention, hormone replacement therapy, began on December, 9, 2022. 51 is a “later in life” transition. I will be talking more about this aspect of my transition in future posts.
I hope that this site will be a source of information and inspiration for anyone that has a gender identity different than the one that was prescribed by doctors, family, friends, colleagues, and society in general. I also hope to be an ambassador for trans issues and help demystify the concept of gender identity for anyone that has a desire to learn.
